On 11 October I had the opportunity to speak at a TEDx event organized by the International School of Kuala Lumpur. The theme of the event was “The Creative Spark” and I spoke about the sport coach’s role in developing athletic talent.
This was the first time I gave a TED talk and I learned a lot about focus and timing. My usual rambling lecture style doesn’t work in the TED constraints. You have 18 minutes, period.
The topic will be familiar to anyone who regularly reads this website but formatting what I wanted to say into a coherent speech that covered the items I though were important was a challenge. I believe I learned a lot from the process and I hope that I will also help me to better frame my written efforts.
